Manager named for new Tower venue 9 September 2019 by Visit Blackpool The Blackpool Tower has appointed Kieron Lunn as the manager for its new multi-purpose family entertainment and event suite, The Fifth Floor. Kieron, who previously worked as at The Blackpool Tower as an entertainer from 2002 until 2014, will now work as the bar and entertainment manager when The Fifth Floor opens to the public in September. A regular on the Blackpool performance circuit including stints as resident DJ and host on Blackpool’s piers, Kieron will now be responsible for organising the entertainment in the suite for the hundreds of families visiting every week. He said: “In some ways, this feels like a homecoming. During my earlier years I was the manager of many entertainment venues across the country and then spent more than 13 years working as an entertainer at The Blackpool Tower, it feels almost poetic to return all these years on as the manager of this new and exciting venue. “Having worked in the entertainment industry for almost three decades, I’m confident that this new attraction can bring something fresh to the market and become the go-to destination for families visiting the resort.” Kenny Mew, general manager at The Blackpool Tower, added: “Kieron brings with him a wealth of experience that will be invaluable in bringing The Fifth Floor alive. Having worked on the Blackpool scene for decades, he will be a welcome addition to the team. “After months of planning, we simply cannot wait to introduce a new offering to The Blackpool Tower’s portfolio of attractions.” The final touches are being added to The Fifth Floor, located in the former home of Jungle Jim’s, with it set to open on September 13th. The Blackpool Tower is celebrating 125 years with a yearlong programme of activity. For more information about The Blackpool Tower, visit www.theblackpooltower.com.
