Roll out the red carpet and get ready to meet the Princess of Pop, Ariana Grande!
A UK first, the brand-new wax figure of the “Dangerous Woman” singer has been unveiled at Madame Tussauds Blackpool!
Before taking up residence at the attraction, Ariana visited Blackpool’s promenade where she recreated the iconic shot that no tourist can resist – touching the top of the famous Blackpool Tower.
With such an impressive line-up of world records and awards, it was only a matter of time before Madame Tussauds Blackpool bestowed the singing superstar the huge honour of having her very own wax figure created.
Along with an outstanding array of prestigious accolades and three best-selling platinum albums, last year Grande was named one of the most influential people in the world on the annual Time 100 list.
The American-Italian beauty also holds the mantle of the second most followed person on Instagram, with more than 101 million followers, and her music videos boasting more than seven billion views worldwide.
Matthew Titherington, General Manager of Madame Tussauds Blackpool, said: “We couldn’t be more excited to have Ariana’s figure at the attraction. She is such an iconic star, with a phenomenal fan base, and we know fans of Ariana and Madame Tussauds will love seeing her.”
“She’s will take pride of place too in our newly refurbished music area, alongside other global music icons from past and present including Freddie Mercury, Leona Lewis and Lady Gaga.”
Ariana’s wax figure appears with a closed mouth smile and a flirty sideways glance looking out to the audience, with her leg extended and her right arm in the air. The figure’s styling includes a halter neck bralette, a structured skater skirt encrusted with crystals and bejewelled platform heels.
Of course, Ariana wouldn’t be Ariana without her signature high, flowing ponytail and a glittery microphone in hand.
Creating Ariana’s wax figure was an in-depth and thorough process, with a dedicated team of sculptors taking hundreds of precise measurements and photographs to ensure as accurate a likeness as possible. The figures are created by expert teams of sculptors, moulders, colourists and hair stylists, taking 20 people up to four months to complete a figure costing around £150,000.
So, bring your selfie camera and your autograph book to Madame Tussauds Blackpool and get “Side To Side” with Ariana Grande.
