Lightpool Creative Opportunities

Lightpool has a 8-year strong track record of ambitious artistic programming including world-premieres from national and international artists.

Lightpool Festival is staged over October half-term, and is a key event in Blackpool Illuminations annual light programme. Our programme is multi-disciplinary to appeal to a diverse audience, delivering work from inter/national artists to local amateur creatives. We connect with communities across the Fylde Coast in the lead up to the festival, delivering artist led workshops in community spaces; and innovative school projects.

Blackpool Illuminations Lightpool Programme was successful in becoming a National Portfolio Organisation of Arts Council England for the investment period 2023-2026. We are the only light sector organisation in the Arts Council portfolio; and we are now planning community engagement projects for the 2024 edition of Lightpool.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

We have a really exciting and ambitious programme planned for Lightpool Festival 2024, and we need enthusiastic, committed and friendly people to help us bring it to life.

As a volunteer, you will be an integral part of our team, helping us with stewarding events, handing out brochures, and way-finding. Each shift is four hours and you can do as many shifts as you like over the festival.

In return, we hope to provide an opportunity to meet new people, try new things, gain work and life experience and be part of something special!
