Techno Music Masters 808 State Added to Festival Bill 15 July 2017 by Visit Blackpool Techno pioneers 808 State will support Haçienda Classical at Lytham Festival 2017. It is announced today that one of the UK's most important, pioneering and influential electronic groups will be taking to the stage in the Main Proms Arena on Thursday August 3 ahead of headline act Haçienda Classical. 808 State secured commercial success back in 1989 with their song Pacific State. They then went on to enjoy album and single success in the UK and overseas with hits such as The Only Rhyme that Bites, Cubic/Olympic and One in Ten. Tickets to see 808 State supporting Haçienda Classical are available now from www.lythamfestival.com Speaking about adding them to the bill, Lytham Festival director Peter Taylor said: “Having Haçienda Classical headline a night at Lytham Festival is already a fantastic coup for us. To now be adding 808 State to the bill that night is pretty special. “This will be a night like no other for Lytham Festival. Everyone talks about how fantastic it was when we brought Faithless here in 2015. That was an incredible night. “However, to have 808 State and Haçienda Classical on the same bill is going to be mind-blowing. Thursday August 3 will be a memorable night.” Tickets are on sale now from www.lythamfestival.com In addition to 808 State supporting, DJ Woody aka Lee Woodvine will warm up the crowds ahead of the show. The twice World Champion DJ’s musical approach has led to his skills being sought for numerous tours and recordings with his 2016 solo album The Point of Contact receiving an unanimous thumbs up from fans and the music press. Haçienda Classical’s critically acclaimed show, which has been a smash hit with dance and classical fans young and old since its debut last year, recreates the iconic sounds and unique atmosphere of the legendary club. It sees FAC 51's original DJ partnership Graeme Park and Mike Pickering reinterpret the seminal dance classics which shaped the original club alongside Manchester Camerata, conductor Tim Crooks and guests. The show returns in 2017 with a new set arranged for the concerts adding a range of new tracks while retaining some of the audience favourites from last year's spectacular concerts. As The Haçienda's dance heritage has collided with the world of classical music, the concerts have been phenomenal and the support for the "rave meets recital" music clash of worlds has been extraordinary, far outstripping any expectations.
