There’s no clowning around when it comes to charity here at The Blackpool Tower Circus! 30 June 2017 by Visit Blackpool The Blackpool Palatine Rotary Club and generous visitors to The Blackpool Tower Circus have helped raise a whopping £6,500 for two very deserving local charities; Brian House Hospice and Merlin’s Magic Wand. It seems people were feeling extra generous during last winter’s Circus Pantomime Jack and the Beanstalk and this year’s seasonal show Mooky and Mr Boo’s Circus spectacular as both charities benefitted from larger than usual contributions. Brian House Hospice which is celebrating its 21st anniversary this year came along with some of their patients to collect their cheque for £2,500 and meet the stars of the Circus Mooky and Mr Boo! The children’s charity which provides a home from home for those going through palliative care or suffering with serious ailments have made an incredibly large impact in the community since they opened their doors in 1996, touching the lives of around 8,000 local people every year. Linzi Young, Head of Fundraising for Trinity Hospice, said “The money raised by visitors to The Blackpool Tower Circus has been overwhelming. Every penny goes towards helping the inspirational children that we look after here at Brian House including provisions and special days out.” The Blackpool Palatine Rotary Club is part of the global network of 1.2 million neighbours, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who come together to make positive, lasting change in communities at home and abroad. Merlin’s Magic Wand is a worldwide charity which works with over 100 different Merlin Entertainments attractions to bring magic into the lives of un-well children and their families. Kate Shane, Head of the Blackpool Cluster for Merlin Entertainments, said "We are delighted to be able to present such worthwhile charities with these incredible donations from our generous guests. It is great to be able to support both Brian House Hospice and our very own Merlin’s Magic Wand, helping them continue their excellent work within our local area.”
