Red carpet treatment for Blackpool Illuminations Switch-On VIPs! 17 July 2018 by Visit Blackpool The world-famous Blackpool Tower Ballroom will be the after-show venue for this year’s Blackpool Illuminations Switch-On party. The ballroom will cater for several hundred VIP ticket-holders as part of the biggest event in the resort’s entertainment calendar. The main Switch-On show, which is being staged on the Tower Festival Headland in association with MTV on Friday 31 August, will feature performances by Ella Eyre, Jonas Blue, Diversity and DVJ (Diversity Juniors), and R3Wire and Varski. More acts and the identity of the 2018 Switch-On celebrity will be revealed soon. The VIP packages include access to a covered marquee within the Switch-On arena with a complimentary welcome drink, mini picnic bag with a ‘Taste of Lancashire’ theme, as well as passes to the exclusive after-show party in the Blackpool Tower Ballroom. In addition to this, all guests in the marquee can enjoy a special treat courtesy of Notarianni’s ice cream to help celebrate their 90th Birthday year. This year’s VIP catering is supplied by award-winning Campbell & Rowley, who will also provide the after-show hospitality at the Blackpool Tower Ballroom featuring a delicious array of modern Lancashire street food including starter, main course and treats from the Golden Mile for dessert. As last year, the Switch-On event will be free, with people invited to apply for the 20,000 wristbands that will guarantee entry to the Tower Festival Headland arena with half of these going exclusively to Blackpool residents.
