Bongo’s Bingo is back in Blackpool 3 November 2017 by Visit Blackpool Show returns to Blackpool’s iconic Tower on Friday December 22nd Bringing what has been an incredible year to a close, Bongo’s Bingo are very proud to announce they are returning to The Blackpool Tower for a festive special after August’s triumphant sold-out debut. 2017 has seen Bongo’s Bingo continue to expand across the UK and beyond - taking in Australia, Dubai, Ibiza and Amsterdam – as well as regular shows all over the country, creating magic and mayhem wherever it goes. The action takes place on Friday December 22nd and tickets go on sale 6pm Sunday 5th November. The team are all very excited to be returning to Lancashire and one of the most iconic locations in the world. The Blackpool Tower officially opened to the public on 14th May 1894 and more than five million bricks, 2,493 tonnes of steel and 93 tonnes of cast iron were used to create the iconic Grade One listed building, in a perfect union for Bongo’s Bingo on the dazzling coastline. In just over two and a half raucous years Bongo’s Bingo has become a pivotal part of the country’s cultural landscape, with wild scenes taking place each night across the UK as the team move from city to city. From starting in Liverpool originally, it is fast becoming a true phenomenon, one which has already re-shaped how people enjoy themselves and perhaps most importantly it brings a sense of unadulterated fun and escapism to going out. The shows continue to sell out in advance, with a vibrant mix of players flocking in from far wide for the riotous reinvention of a particularly unique and fond British pastime. Bongo’s Bingo features rave anthems, dance-offs, plenty of audience participation and lots of dancing on tables, but it also challenges the more traditional concepts of going out. Is it a show? Is it a rave? Is it a club? It is actually bingo? It’s a bit of them all and much more, with a very distinct identity all of its own. Kenny Mew, General Manager of The Blackpool Tower, said: “We are thrilled the Bongo’s Bingo team will be returning to The Blackpool Tower. They blew the roof off at their first show in August and the atmosphere was incredible. The show in December will be just before Christmas so expect some festive hi jinx, classic Christmas songs and the energetic bingo games they’re famous for. It’s going to be a great night!”
