We understand you may have some questions about your upcoming trip, our scheduled events and whether you can travel here now that lockdown restrictions are easing. Below, we've pulled together some of the more frequently asked questions we've been receiving lately. 

 

Can I come to Blackpool?

Yes, of course. It’s been a long time coming, but we are thrilled to announce that Blackpool is open for business. We have been busy putting the finishing touches to our preparations that will ensure you have a safe and enjoyable visit. What can I do when I get to Blackpool?

Blackpool is slowly and safely returning to normal. From 4 July, eateries, accommodation and most tourist attractions will re-open. For more information on how to safely visit Blackpool, read our Know Before You Go Guide.
 

Can I stay over in Blackpool?

What’s happening with Blackpool’s big events?

Some of Blackpool’s major events have already been cancelled because of the pandemic and the difficulty in enforcing social distancing. Those that have been cancelled for 2020 include: Pride Festival, Armed Forces Week, Blackpool Air Show and Rebellion Festival. Others such as Ride The Lights and World Fireworks remain under review. However, one of the most anticipated events in Blackpool’s calendar, the Blackpool Illuminations, will be going ahead! Find out more information on our Switch-On and Illuminations

Will the Blackpool Illuminations be on this year?

Yes! We are pleased to announce that Blackpool Illuminations 2020 will be shining this year and we have extended the season for another TWO months!

Blackpool Illuminations will be on from Sept 4, 2020, all the way through to January 3, 2021! This will be the first time the dazzling light display will shine throughout the festive season.

Not only that, our annual Switch-On event is going virtual this year. The live stream in association with MTV will take place on the night of 4 September 2020.  Find out more information.

Is Blackpool Beach open?

Yes, our beaches are open to use at your leisure. Though we hope you have buckets of fun on our beaches, it’s still important to stay safe at the seaside.
