So much to see and do in Blackpool – the challenge is how much can you take in over 24 hours!
Afternoon
After you arrive in the resort head for a stroll down the Promenade to get your bearings and soak up that unique atmosphere while marvelling at the gag-tastic Comedy Carpet. It’s one of the biggest outdoor public artworks in the UK, it’s free and it includes the work of more than 1,000 comedians and comedy writers from the days of musical hall right up to today’s stand-up greats. “Garlic bread” anyone? Talking of which, if you’re feeling peckish, why not tuck into some traditional fish and chips and sit on the seafront to watch the world go by?
After that, call in at the majestic Blackpool Tower Ballroom and enjoy afternoon tea followed by a quick two-step. While in The Blackpool Tower take a trip to the top to the SkyWalk where you can walk on the glass floor (if you dare) and take in stunning views of the Golden Mile – including our world famous three piers, as well as across the Irish Sea and the beautiful Lancashire coast.
Alternatively, why not spend a few hours rubbing shoulders with the stars at Madame Tussauds. From Simon Cowell, Ant & Dec, to the Two Ronnies and The Beatles, there are famous faces everywhere you turn. You can even have a go at casting your own hand in wax!
Early Evening
It’s dinner and showtime! From champagne and oysters to a wide range of international cuisine, Blackpool has it covered from the traditional to the gastronomically swanky. With hundreds of restaurants, take-aways and bars, there is an enormous variety to suit not just every taste but every pocket.
And as the day comes to a close, the night comes alive. Blackpool offers the very best in quality entertainment. West End shows, ballet, opera and art exhibitions sit alongside gigs from the latest boy bands, comedians and tribute acts. You will not be disappointed.
Morning
Why not start the day in one of the cafes in Cedar Square where you can enjoy a coffee and a pastry while relaxing in the shadow of the famous Winter Gardens?
With a tight schedule, make time to visit at least one of Blackpool’s three piers – North, South and Central. On South and Central you can enjoy traditional amusements and funfair rides or at North Pier stroll down the full stretch of Blackpool’s oldest boardwalk and hop on the historic Carousel at the end.
Before the end of your magical 24 hours in Blackpool, you’ve still got some time to catch a tram so you can ride along Blackpool’s six miles of Promenade. A truly relaxing way to bring your trip to a close.
